The Sezz Saint Tropez has assembled an enthusiastic and qualified team whose main mission is to make your stay unforgettable. This month, we are pleased to introduce Yannick DURAND, concierge at the Sezz.
What was your professional career before you arrived at the Sezz?
After several years of travelling and discovering what the world had to offer me, I settled down in Courchevel in 2006, where my passion for luxury hotels took on its full meaning. It was in 2015 that I had the chance to join the Sezz Saint-Tropez team.
What are your main duties?
Our duties are as varied as they are surprising. They include…
Ensuring the smooth running of the guest’s time with us and dealing with all their requests.
Informing and advising guests about tourist activities.
Working hand in hand with hotel services but also with our trusted external service providers so we can respond efficiently to requests.
Supervising the team of valets / porters and ensuring that the shuttle service runs smoothly.
Keeping in mind all the habits and preferences of our guests so we can surprise them and be certain of ensuring their complete satisfaction during their next stay with us!
What are the key moments in your daily duties?
The key moments of everyday life take place at the start and end of the day during chats with customers about their preferences and experiences. Not to mention the middle of the day when I supervise departures for the beach and have to deal with last minute requests.
What do you consider to be the three essential activities in Saint-Tropez?
Taking a boat trip so you can view Saint-Tropez and its surroundings from the sea and visit the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, the Bay of Canebiers, and the famous Pampelonne Beach, where you can stop off and relax in one of the famous Beach Clubs. Then go back aboard to discover the headlands of Cap Camarat and Cap Taillat and their exquisitely beautiful coves and turquoise water.
Taking the time to stroll the streets of the old village and explore the true Saint-Tropez. Walking along the coast, passing by the marine cemetery and the Ponche quarter before immersing yourself in the distinctive ambiance of the port of Saint-Tropez.
Discovering the savoir-faire of the region's wine estates. Tastings and guided tours of the vineyards are available. A Provencal lunch can also be enjoyed there.
Do you have a little Made in Sezz advice?
Since the arrival of the famous starred chef Philippe Colinet at the Hotel Sezz, the Colette restaurant is always full every evening. Saint-Tropez has only 2 starred restaurants, so we advise that you book your table in advance if you want to enjoy a high-level culinary experience.
Do you have an anecdote from the Sezz to share with us?
One beautiful spring morning, a New York couple arrived in the hotel lobby in despair. During their trip they had made a stopover in Paris. There the client had lost a large, beautiful box containing her entire collection of hats, acquired in all her travels over the years and of inestimable sentimental value to her. To top it off, these guests were only staying in Saint-Tropez for 24 hours.
After calling their Parisian hotel, the police, and the airport, we finally located her missing item, which was with the lost property service. The agent there explained to me that the box had been found on a bench and, luckily, no one had taken it.
Thanks to our network of contacts, I was able to call a colleague in the capital who volunteered to pick up the box before the service closed and jump on the last train to Toulon, where a taxi driver was waiting for him so he could complete his mission.
Rarely have I known anything more satisfying than seeing this person so amazed when their box was returned to them.
I left telling myself that I was very lucky to have this great job…
