Les Nuits de la Moutte

This year, once again, the Château de la Moutte hosts its famous music festival in its gardens and on the nearby beach. You'll find everything from classical and Jazz to Cuban music on the programme from the 1st to 13th August 2017. A great event to discover during your stay at Sezz Saint Tropez!

International Artists

The Nights of the Castle of the Moutte celebrates its 42nd edition this year. Past events spanning over four decades have been notable for their quality and diversity as much as for their exceptional setting. The outstanding piano recitals are in tribute to the former owner of the chateau, Blandine Liszt, daughter of the world-famous classical composer. François-René Duchâble accompanies mezzo-soprano Sandrine Sutter in a repertoire that includes pieces by Chopin, Beethoven, Gluck, Schumann, Berlioz and Wagner for a romantic opening night. More piano, but this time it's a duet on the water – or just above it. Sisters Khatia and Gvantsa Buniatishvili will stand facing each other under the starry sky on Canebiers beach as they play Schubert, Ravel, Rachmaninov and Gershwin. And the piano again in a highly-anticipated concert featuring Nelson Freire who will give a unique interpretation of Bach and Villa-Lobos in the courtyard of the castle surrounded by pink laurels and palm trees.

A magical setting

The open-air setting is beautiful when the heat of the day has cooled to the warmth of evening. Flowers exude sweet fragrances as the breeze ruffles the broad leaves of the palm trees. The stage lights come on and, at last, the first chords are struck. It’s in this magical atmosphere that you will applaud Cameroon bassist Richard Bona who is accompanied by a lively Cuban combo. During the "Concert with No Return", vocal acapella quintet Cinq de Cœur combine humour with virtuosity in a performance featuring pieces by Mylène Farmer, Nina Simone, Bach and Queen. For the closing act, visit the chateau palmery where pianist Jacky Terrasson, saxophonist Lionel Belmondo and their acolytes chain together blues and jazz with French chanson and a touch of Debussy, Ravel and Fauré.
