An inspiring art display at the Hotel Sezz Saint Tropez
The Galerie Saint Laurent brings an exhilarating display of contemporary art to various locations around the Gulf of Saint Tropez for the summer. Many are being exhibited in the open air so as to reach the largest possible audience. Ten artists will be exhibiting in five locations, and the Hotel Sezz Saint Tropez is honoured to host the challenging and inspired creations of the Hungarian born artist Attila Rath Geber.
Geber works primarily in the spheres of stone sculpture and environmental art. He studied mathematics and visual arts, is a co-founder of an Academy of Arts in his native land, became involved in the theatre, has worked in Carrara, Italy, and now lives in France. This rich and varied life experience surely gives rise, at least in part, to the inspiration that informs his daring and imaginative creativity.
Often angular, yet at times almost anatomical in their organic aspects, Geber’s sculptures are extraordinarily involving. The artist attempts to redefine his relationship to the given environment and examines the connections between the sculpture and its specific situation. The milieu becomes a part of the overall expression and concept, raising awareness of space, volume and spatial relationships. Location becomes an aspect of creation.
