At the start of summer, lots of events are already happening in Saint-Tropez. One that will delight equestrian fans is the Polo Women’s Cup. The first 100% female tournament will take place at the Polo Club Saint-Tropez from 30th June to 2nd July 2017. The Sezz invites you to take part in a great event and do a good deed at the same time. The Polo Women Cup: Dreams come true to the sound of the horse's hooves
This high-level competition brings international women's teams from France, Italy, Germany, Argentina, Malaysia and South Africa to the famous Polo Club de Saint Tropez. True to its solidarity ethics, this famous Tropezian club that is unique in France for its beauty and quietude, supports and dedicates this tournament to the "Rêves Association”, a recognised charity that has been working to fulfil the dreams of children and adolescents coping with serious illness for 23 years. Meetings are not open to the public apart from the "Sunday Polo" event. This year, it takes place on 2nd July at 4:30 pm and will be followed by the presentation of the trophies around 7 pm.
Some Polo Rudiments for Novices
The equestrian sport consists of two opposing teams of four players on horseback. Aided by a long-handled mallet, they must score goals by sending a plastic ball or white wood behind the goal lines. During the game, which is broken into six periods of up to 7 minutes, respect for the horse always takes precedence over the game.
Participate in the event and do a good deed – it couldn’t be easier
Enjoy a pleasant day out and help the Rêves Association at the same time. There are several ways to do so: donate, enter the Tombola, reserve an aperitif-tapas during the meeting for 35€ (5€ donated to the association Rêves) or book a table for the event’s closing evening on 2nd July (70€ per person including 15€ donation to the "Rêves Association"). You will taste specialties from the Polo 1999 restaurant where South American gastronomic surprises are served in a very Latin atmosphere.
